  • November 7th 2010 - After Diwali, we intend to keep the energy and blast lingering on for the rest of the week through this trip. Participants arrive in Delhi from various destinations and take the Delhi - Jabalpur Kingfisher flight to arrive in Jabalpur around noon. We drive to our first destination for the next few hours and arrive at Bandhavgarh National Park by the end of this evening. On the first evening, we gather for our first camp fire meeting while we discuss and strategize our trip. This is when we also get to meet our crew of drivers and get to understand the national park and the Tiger in General.
  • November 8th 2010 - The winter is just setting in and the park opening is timed with the sun rise. Hoping to be one of the first few to enter the park in order to track the Tiger's movements based on the pug marks, we arrive very early at the gate this morning before sun rise. Our first safari is aimed at understanding the park, its rules, its routes, the tiger's country and if luck favors have a glimpse of his highness - the Royal Bengal Tiger. Every morning our breakfast is packed and we stop at a pre-determined location inside the park for refreshments and breakfast. We end our morning safari by 10:15 and get back to our base. We let our participants free during the mid-day. After lunch, we gather for a quick discussion on the afternoon game plan. We set out for the afternoon drive in the park every day by 3 PM and return to our lodges by sun set. Every evening, we spend at least an hour before lunch interacting with the group understanding one or the other topic of Tiger photography. This is when we would review photographs, discuss learnings and celebrate our day.
  • November 9 & 10th - Our routine while at Bandhavgarh is going to be very similar every day expect for the luck inside the park is unpredictable. On the 9th, we have an optional visit to the Bandhavgarh fort in the middle of the day. By the end of 10th November, we would have at least six safaris inside Bandhavgarh along with one optional Fort visit which is also a Safari.
  • November 11th - We start early in the morning to reach Kanha from Bandhavgarh in a private transport for the group. After we settle down in our lodge we are ready to hit the roads again for the afternoon jungle safari. Our primary interest in Kanha is now more than just the Tiger. We intend to photograph the rare Hard-ground Barasinga, the Gaur and hopefully wild dogs if we are lucky along with Tigers in the meadow of Kanha's beautiful sal forests. Kanha's male tigers have a reputation of spending great amount of time in the open during winter and if luck prevails, we might have our best sightings of the male tigers over here.
  • November 12th - 13th - Unlike Bandhavgarh, Kanha is open for game till twelve noon. This gives us ample time to track tigers and if we find one, spend as much time as possible with them providing a platform to get best photography opportunities. The winter light at Kanha is spectacular in the mornings and Tigers are seen for longer time in the open than in summer. After lunch, we resume safaris in the park and return to our lodge for our interactive sessions in the evenings.
  • November 14th - Most of the participants are flying out of Nagpur which is at least 5 hours away from Kanha. On this morning, we have an early breakfast and a drive to Nagpur airport. In Nagpur we stop for lunch before we board our flights to various destinations across India.
