Description

Toehold conducts bird photography masterclass in two locations. One in Bengaluru and the other in Ranganathittu. While the one held in Bengaluru is a 1-day workshop, in Ranganathittu, it is spread over 2 days. In Bengaluru’s workshop, the participants are taken to a hide to practise Bird photography, whereas, in Ranganathittu, the participants are taken on a boat safari.

What will you learn in this Masterclass?

Bird Photography Masterclass - Bengaluru

This class has two eye opening sessions – one is an indoor session where you are made to understand the basics and advanced concepts of Photography like Exposure, Focusing, Composition etc.

The second half of the class is a practical session conducted in a bird hide. In this session, under the guidance of our ace skipper, you apply and practice all the lessons learnt in the theory class. You also get to witness first-hand, the way a professional thinks and reacts in a given situation and manages to get the perfect composition.

Schedule

Timings: 10:00AM – 6:00PM

Bird Photography Masterclass - Ranganthittu

This workshop begins at Ranganathittu at around 10:30 a.m. on Day 1, and ends at Ranganathittu after breakfast on Day 2. Road transfers to and from Ranganathittu will be arranged in shared cabs at extra actual cost if required. Please talk to us for special needs.

Schedule

Workshop participants gather at 10:30 a.m at the lodge and after a brief rest, we gather for an introductory presentation.

Lunch will be followed by an interactive session on some key bird photography issues, before we travel to Ranganathittu for a field session. We enjoy a boat ride during which we seek to put some of the concepts we learnt at the introductory session into practice, and hopefully enjoy a productive time with assistance from the mentor

Upon our return we gather for a session we call ChitraTantra, where we review images and share feedback, followed by dinner and rest for the day.

Rising early, we head for Ranganathittu and enjoy another boat ride, making some evocative images in the atmospheric river and of course plenty of bird photographs. After hopefully a productive morning, we return to the lodge, breakfast, check out and return to Bangalore, having advanced our bird photography skills by a significant mile.

Bird Photography Masterclass - Hosanagara

This workshop begins at Hosanagara at Dawn on Day 2, and ends after the sunset on Day 3. Road transfers to and from Hosanagara will be arranged in shared cabs at extra actual cost if required. Please talk to us for special needs.

Schedule

Workshop participants gather at the lodge for dinner and retire for the day for an action-packed weekend.

During the day, we visit the Bird Photography hide twice, once in the morning and evening as we photograph Plum-headed Parakeet and Malabar Parakeet upclose.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at the lodge.

Upon our return, we gather for a session we call ChitraTantra, where we review images and share feedback, followed by dinner and rest for the day.

The day is spent almost similar to day two. Participants enjoy two sessions at the hide this day and depart after sunset.

Please expect to reach Bengaluru close to midnight as it may take 6-7 hours from the hide.

Depending on the participants’ availability of time and their interest, they can choose either the 1-day Bengaluru Masterclass or the 2-day Ranganathittu Masterclass

So, register now and learn to shoot like a pro!

I attended this class on 29-11-2020. Had a wonderful experience, learnt a lot during theory sessions in the office and putting it to use outdoors under the guidance of Jayanth Sharma was a great experience, the tips, personal touch and constant advice from Jayanth Sharma was very helpful. The variety and number of birds we got was an icing on the cake. Memorable moments. Thanks to the most friendly and humble person, worth spending the weekend with Jayanth Sharma in the class. Thanks a lot..

Thank you for the wonderful learning experience. After the Art and Science of photography workshop we had in Chennai, this was an apt follow up. It was good to experiment in the field with lighting and composition.

It was a short but wonderful 2 days. Golden memories I carry are the Exposures in “Golden Light”. Every time I see the photographs taken in the Golden Light, I feel elated & thrilled. Thank you for exposing us to Golden Light Exposures.
