This week on Sentient Snippets, a reward for searching eyes, ways to bring alive a brooding sky and unwind the imagination, and majesty with a bill.

It isn’t exaggeration when they say extraordinary things happen when you are at the right place at the right time. See if you can feel the tremors in the air as these red-green macaws swoop down a vale and happen to pin down a moment like this. The world is now full of scarlet surprises flying right before your searching eyes. Let a velvety beauty enmesh you when you lose yourself to the timelessness of even a moment.

A luminous joy glows in the eyes, when these changing dark forms appear as the evening prayerfully collapses into the lap of a night. Remember it, remember it, remember it, you think. And remind yourself how an evening can draw silhouettes against a brooding sky: of suppleness, of sinuousness of curves, of sure-footedness, and of lassitude as well.

Mountains stretch out to the horizon, sometimes pale light buttering the tarmac paths that go winding into the depths you can only discern by following them. See if you can hold a cloud and pin it down; let your imagination float away like these cottony things… all too quietly. Mute fluffy things speckling a sky that’s a loud blue.

Adorable colour-clutter on a lichen-ridden branch of a blank tree is the Great Indian Hornbill. Its majestic furry form, its colours and that spectacular bill, and the indescribable swoosh it makes in flight justify its being special to several tribes. A hornbill’s way of feeding its offspring is a story edged with a radiant poignancy and you might want to learn more about its behaviour and make your interpretations as beautiful as the bird itself.
