The Mara is a land of millions at Migration time, and there are almost as many things to do. We pick just seven of them – one for each day of our Great Migration Tour, perhaps!
1. Plunge into an ocean of emotions!

Plunge deep into the ocean of emotions that make your heart skip a beat as a wildebeest dives into the silting river during the Great Migration. Here, there is no thinking twice to live each moment. Here, there are beautiful things, one too many, happening at the same time – which can overwhelm you and make you swell with a love for a world where the sheer number of these wild beings seem to compete with the vastness of the land they inhabit.
2. See your insignificance!

See how insignificant the passports and visas in your wallets might look now. You’ve probably not understood in essence of what ‘multitude’ means if you haven’t witnessed the sheer number of wildebeest and zebra and other animals migrating from Serengeti to the Mara. Even when they aren’t following their path and leaving behind a blazing trail, there is a fierce beauty that puts all human philosophy into embarrassment! Borders are blurred by the dust they leave behind.
3. Come to terms with the unthinkable!

And she watches as thousands of wildebeest cross ways with her. This is when a long wait of a lioness can manifest into ferocious action in the wild, when the rules of life might leave humans who are watching, haunted. These are tales of fear, hunger, and the scatter – of the possible prey and of the thoughts in your mind. Try, try and see if you can come to terms with what they say: “If the lamb is blessed, so is the lion.”
4. Expect the unpredictable!

A watchful mother cheetah on a mound with her adorable four cubs that dilly-dally around her, offering you a delightful sighting such as this: one of the many charming scenes you might witness in the vast expanse of the Mara grasslands. While the herbivorous are intently feasting on their part of feed, watch, if you are fortunate, if the mother is going to hunt to keep herself and the family fed.
5. Observe the vigilance!

Observe the vigilant vultures and their effortless charm as thousands of wildebeests trundle past them, across the river. These are visions you will scavenge from your own memory time and again once you are back from their land, and the Great Migration is thus more than the crossing itself. There is always much more than how much one can take in or contain, even if it’s someone who thinks breathing itself is an act that’s no less than a miracle.
6. Contemplate the formless!

Contemplate how you can wrest a form like this from the enormous emptiness in this part of Africa: a tall and self-assured silhouette of a giraffe against a salmon-hued sky. Could we ever imbibe such poise these beings seem to possess in the wild, without even being aware of it? Could one ever chronicle the composure that inhabits such solitary creatures that live so gracefully without having to brood over existential crisis unlike we?
7. Let the wild play its card!

Let the indecorum of a wild joy work through you thoroughly in the wild as you watch the disciplined walk of the adjutant stork. Treasured as scavengers, these beings are a great delight to simply watch, not because they are exceptionally gorgeous to look at, but because of how naturally graceful they are in their bearing!
