Camp Overview

The Suvarnamukhi stream ebbs and flows through the Bannerghatta’s landscape, which is dotted with deciduous forests, scrublands and valleys. Much like young cubs taking in the majesty of their home, the Park will envelope youngsters in a sense of wondrous rapture.

The Park proudly boasts of a plethora of species such as wild elephants, leopards, wild dogs and sloth bears apart from the commoner mammals. It is also home to over 170 species of birds including the rare rufous-bellied eagle and yellow-throated bulbul.

Designed to let budding young naturalists explore these riches, this Camp is a journey of discovery into parts of this Park that are seldom seen by tourists.

While the young ones frolic and have fun in the lap of nature, the Camp is also designed to bestow knowledge in a way that is interactive and witty. Your child will return to you enthralled and enriched.

Children will intimately experience nature akin to their storybooks – meet like-minded naturalists, adventure through the different parts of the Park, tide over the hills, snake through the valleys and reflect quietly by the lakes each day.

As evening dawns, the little ones will retire to their lodgings for a night of games by a bonfire and have a whole lot of fun in the unsullied environs.

What will they learn?

Ambling through the green wonderland, this Camp will instill in them a keen interest towards wildlife and forest conservation, ensuring their conversion into responsible green citizens while having discourses about topics such as poaching, pollution, habitat loss, etc.

Through the nature walks, the Camp will impart knowledge about a plethora of topics such as – specie identification, camera trapping, camera hacks and precautions to take while capering through the wild.

Tour Itinerary

We depart Bangalore after light at 9:00 a.m. and proceed to be enchanted on our much-awaited Junior Naturalist Summer Camp. After a short bus ride, we soon reach our welcoming resort at Bannerghatta National Park.

After check-in and a scrumptious lunch, Skipper will conduct ice breaker activities so as to get the children acquainted with each other. There will also be a brief on the wildlife found in the area.

For this evening, the group will depart on a nature walk and visit the animal rescue shelter, which will help them empathize with wounded animals.

We return to the resort at dusk, after enjoying the many sights, sounds and smells of the forest. The children will then gather for a wildlife film screening.

Lastly, over bonfire and dinner the children get to know one another better and discuss the unique experience of the Bannerghatta National Park.

We end the night with a session of entertainment followed by a presentation on wildlife in the area.

25 April, Thursday

The final morning of the Camp arrives as we wake up to the melodious bird-songs outside our windows.

We embark on a final nature walk. Post the walk, we gather for breakfast and a final rendezvous before checking out at 11:30 a.m. and driving back to the city, where you eagerly wait to hear your child’s tales.
