How Is It?

A geographical beauty where reminders of ancientness and modern marvels mingle.

Bordered by seas on three sides, Turkey, officially known as the Republic of Turkey, has been inhabited by people of various civilisations since the Paleolithic age. And Istanbul, its gorgeous capital city, the transcontinental city in Eurasia, has all the historical details that are abound in various forms — culture and architecture and tradition — and getting acquainted with them brings the singular joy that only knowing can bring.

While the city is dotted by reminders of ancientness and other intact old architectural marvels, its geographical beauty is as enchanting as it can be, with mountains and hills rising from the land and with water-bodies, all blending beautifully with its modern commercial centres. And its Middle-Eastern glory will conspicuously woo you with its effortless charm into making stunning photographs of it.

Places that spread Sufi wisdom and joy are plenty, and the whirling dervishes are a delightful part of the Istanbul experience. Mosques and spice markets and other places of colour-explosions will stun your senses, too. If you are a foodie, there’s a world of native cuisine to be experienced. You will have quite a sensory overload to happily return with.

What You Will See and Photograph:

You will spend some time photographing the world famous Grand Bazaar, whose oriental atmosphere will enthrall us. We will leave the Bazaar to pay a visit to some lovely mosques in the vicinity of its vibrant hues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Toehold Photo Travel vs Vacations

While Toehold Photo Travel is one of our most popular offerings, we work as a travel agency without bringing the photography guide element in to your travel. In short you would be using our travel experts service to just plan the vacation and execute it.

  • Unlike a Photo Travel experience, your Vacation is completely personalised.
  • The dates, style of travel, class of hotels and lodges, destinations, everything is tailor-made to suit your custom requirement.
  • A Skipper or a photography guide doesn’t travel with you to guide you unless you decide to take our customised and guided photo travel experience.

So take advantage of the immense experience and field knowledge that we bring in to your Vacation’s planning without having to pay for our time and costs. Plus, we don’t charge an additional fee for our time and travel planning services.

Who should participate in this tour? Are there any eligibility criteria?

Anybody interested in street and cityscape photography and is above the age of 18 (unless accompanied by an adult) can participate in this Tour. There are no eligibility criteria.

How much walking will be involved?

While there will not be any real hiking of sorts, a lot of photo opportunities in street and travel photography are made possible only by exploring areas on foot.  We will have a vehicle to ferry us around to various places, there will be some amount of walking involved each day,  while we explore and make images at various places that we will be visiting.

What equipment is needed?
