Anuroop Krishnan

Photography Mentor

Anuroop Krishnan is a marketing professional turned photographer. While he undertakes people and children photography assignments from time to time, he’s primarily a passionate nature photographer. In over a decade of documenting wildlife across India, his photo-stories reflect an assiduous understanding of wildlife and the diverse habitats that they are found in. He feels more at home in the grasslands of Tal Chhapar, the rainforests of Agumbe and the Rann of Kutch than he does at his own home in Bengaluru. Through his photographs and stories, Anuroop seeks to depict subjects in their natural surroundings, to showcase the significance of habitats that nurture wildlife.

Anuroop’s stories and images feature regularly in magazines like Sanctuary Asia, Saevus, Nature In Focus and JLR Explore. He’s featured in the Better Photography magazine’s expert panel to share his views on wildlife photography. Anuroop’s also won several photography awards, including the ‘Photographer of the Year’ award for the macro category in Better Photography’s Photographer of the Year contest, one of India’s largest photography contests. In 2014, Anuroop led a team of fellow photographers and writers to win Trailblazers, a photo-story contest by Saevus, for a photostory on Lion-tailed macaques in Valparai.
