Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, Afternoon Safari and Overnight in Pench
Arrive at Nagpur, the closest airport to Pench, and drive to our lodge near Pench Tiger Reserve. The journey takes you through central India’s dry landscapes before entering forested areas. After check-in and a short rest, head out for your first afternoon safari.
The safari introduces you to Pench’s open teak forests, grasslands, and waterholes. Wildlife activity increases in the afternoon, with good chances to see herbivores, predators, and birdlife.
Return to the lodge by evening, followed by tea and introductions with the Skipper and fellow participants. A short orientation session covers Pench’s natural history, predator dynamics, and safari protocols.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2 & 3: Morning and Afternoon Safaris, and Overnight in Pench
The next two days are focused on morning and afternoon safari experiences inside Pench Tiger Reserve. Each day starts early, allowing us to enter the park as soon as it opens and track fresh signs like pugmarks, calls, and movement along forest trails. Morning safaris offer the best chances to see active predators, including tigers on the move and packs of Wild Dogs in action. After the morning safari, we return to the lodge for breakfast and a short rest.
We head out again in the afternoon as wildlife activity builds near water sources. These drives offer varied sightings of both mammals and birdlife.Throughout the safaris, the Skipper works closely with the guide and driver, adapting strategies based on real-time wildlife movement and conditions.
Evenings are relaxed, with image reviews and photography discussions over dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Morning Safari and Dispersal
On the final day, we go out for one last morning safari in soft early morning light. It is a quiet and unhurried drive, offering a final chance to photograph wildlife and forest scenes.
After returning to the lodge for breakfast, we check out and transfer to Nagpur. The tour ends with lasting memories and a strong collection of images from the forests of Pench.
