Wild Bhadra
About the Photo Tour
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Western Ghats, is known for its rich biodiversity and relatively undisturbed environment. The forest is made up of moist deciduous trees, grasslands, and riverine areas, which together create a varied and engaging habitat.
The Bhadra River plays an important role in the ecosystem, supporting both wildlife movement and bird activity. Elephants are frequently seen near the water, while birdlife remains active along the riverbanks and forest edges.
Wildlife in Bhadra includes Tigers, Leopards (including the rare Black Leopard), Elephants, Gaur, Sloth Bears, and Wild Dogs, along with a wide variety of bird species. Each safari offers something different, shaped by the conditions and movement within the forest.
About
Bhadra
Photo Tours
Nestled in the lush folds of the Western Ghats, Bhadra Tiger Reserve is a landscape defined by dense forests, rolling hills, and the life-giving presence of the Bhadra River. Unlike the open terrains of central India, Bhadra feels immersive and intimate, where the forest closes in and every turn holds a sense of mystery.
Bhadra is a rewarding destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers who appreciate rich habitats and subtle encounters. The reserve supports Tigers, Leopards, Sloth Bears, and a healthy population of Gaur, Elephants, and Deer species, all thriving within this moist deciduous and semi-evergreen ecosystem.
The river and reservoir add depth to Bhadra’s wilderness. Smooth-coated otters, marsh crocodiles, and a vibrant birdlife flourish along its banks. Malabar Pied Hornbills, Fish Eagles, Kingfishers, and a variety of endemic Western Ghats species make this a paradise for bird photographers.
A journey through Bhadra is not just about sightings, but about immersion. It is a forest that invites you to slow down, observe closely, and connect deeply. Here, the wilderness feels alive in every rustle, every call, and every shifting beam of light through the canopy.
